The 54-year-old Wiels fought for the independence of Cura ç ao and won the parliamentary elections last fall.
Wiels was a social worker and had nine years with a daily radio news.He rarely mince words. During the election last year he insulted by political opponents Netherlands, women and the Roman Catholic Church.
In March this year the PVV expressed outraged Wiels a ruling that would have done a year earlier. He would have said out loud that he foresees body bags for Dutch. He later denied that he would have said:” I’m not crazy.”

Foto: ANPDat hebben de autoriteiten op het eiland bevestigd. Twee mannen zouden op een strand van Marie Pompun in totaal vijf schoten op hem hebben afgevuurd.
De 54-jarige Wiels streed voor de onafhankelijkheid van Curaçao en won afgelopen najaar de parlementsverkiezingen.
Wiels was maatschappelijk werker en had negen jaar lang een dagelijks radioprogramma met actualiteiten. Hij nam zelden een blad voor de mond. Tijdens de verkiezingen van vorig jaar beledigde hij volgens politieke tegenstanders Nederland, vrouwen en de Rooms-Katholieke Kerk.
In maart van dit jaar toonde de PVV zich verontwaardigd over een uitspraak die Wiels een jaar eerder zou hebben gedaan. Hij zou hardop hebben gezegd dat hij lijkzakken voorziet voor Nederlanders. Later sprak hij tegen dat hij dat zou hebben gezegd: ”Ik ben niet gek.”

Thanks! For better or worse ours the world of those acvtiely and critically concerned about these issues in the Netherlands and its former colonies, that is is a remarkably small world (we actually met once when both of us were interviewed about Zwarte Piet on the Al Jazeera Stream last December. It was that post that got their attention). For things to change I think the push will ultimately have to come from inside, but I think we can get the ball rolling at least a bit more by giving this stuff more international exposure = subjecting the Dutch and their what me worry attitude to more international scrutiny (or what the Japanese call gaiatsu = pressure from without ). People will say the most unbelievable things in Dutch, assuming that no non-Dutch are listening/watching. Will see what we can do about getting some English subtitles on this shocking documentary. The good thing is at least that the Dutch public broadcaster NTR had the guts to record and show this!
