I spoke to former Parliamentarian Patrick Illidge, we had a nice, long discussion.
He has just returned from the United States, and is now recovering from his leg surgery.
Illidge was very confident, that he will prevail in court.
With all the original charges, only two of the charges are now being disputed in court.
One charge deals with the gun being found at his home, during a search of the premises two years ago, during the original investigation.
Experts are saying that not only was the weapon seized illegally, that the search conducted had not been down as per law, and that the chances were high, that the gun charges would be thrown out on a technicality.
It was also verified, that the gun did not belong to Illidge, who had been away at the time of the search, but to a Dominicano living/working on the property.
The second charge, which involves the accusations of bribery that also seems to be up in the air at the moment.
The accusations seem to be, that Patrick Illidge WAS SUPPOSED to have received $150.000 from Jaap Van den Heuvel, in a bribery attempt. How the judge will decide whether something someone MIGHT have done is a crime, a issue a sentence- and the legality of charging and prosecuting someone for something that might have happened, should prove interesting.
Illidge, who is being represented by attorney Ralph Richardson, also hinted that there is documentation to much of what occurred with and during the Bada Bing scandal.
Illidge remains optimistic, other legal minds, not associated with the case, have pointed out many discrepancies in the way the Illidge case was handled.
Expect some more exclusive information, not just about the Illidge case, but the upcoming trial of the Buncampers.
