Netherlands, Curaçao & Sint Maarten Ombudsman speak with Willem-Alexander about developments in their countries.

King Willem-Alexander paid a working visit to the National Ombudsman in The Hague on Wednesday afternoon. The Government Information Service has reported this.

The current National Ombudsman, Reinier van Zutphen, and his team told the king about various aspects of their work. Employees explained, among other things, the diversity of questions they handle and the research they conduct on their own initiative. Attention was also paid to the themes of poverty and digitization, two priorities of the National Ombudsman.

Finally, there was a meeting with the ombudsmen of the Kingdom. The ombudsmen of the Netherlands, Curaçao and Sint Maarten spoke with Willem-Alexander about developments in their countries, the relationship between citizen and government and the role of their institute in problems between citizens and the government. In addition, discussions were held with the quartermaster of Aruba about the advanced plans for establishing an ombudsman in Aruba.
