PHILIPSBURG, St.Maarten – The Sea Rescue Foundation, Coast Guard and other emergency services responded to a call that a Tuesday evening thatanaircraft had gone down just shortoftheSXM Airport runway (rwy).Initial reports state that a small FedEx single engineaircraft with two souls on board executed a water crash landing procedure short of (rwy 100).As of 9:30 Wednesday evening a search tolocate the crash site and survivors was ongoing. The search is continuing.There has been no information that could explain why the aircraft did not make it to the runway (rwy).
