Although initial reports from eyewitnesses claimed that the victim had been shot in the head, later it was ruled a suicide by hanging. Below is the Official Police report
Man commits suicide
Several police patrols, detectives, Forensic Department and Paramedics were sent by the Emergency Central Dispatch to Marigot Hill road 64, in Sint Peters on Sunday October 18th at approximately 02.10 p.m. after receiving a call informing them, that the male resident at that address had committed suicide.
On the scene the investigating officers learnt that 37 year old victim with initials J.W.S. had been suffering from depression.
On Sunday the family left for church leaving the victim alone at home resting. When the family arrived back from church they realized that the victim had taken his own life by way of hanging.
Doctor Douglas arrived on the scene shortly after and pronounced the death of the victim.
The Forensic Department was on the scene collecting evidence and the detectives were questioning witnesses. Thus far no signs of foul play has been detected.
People who suffer from depressions often commit suicide, so it is not strange at all. Very sad indeed. May is soul rip.
