My dear fellow-citizens,
On June 10 and 17, you are called to elect the member for Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin. This is a very important choice, and it is the future of our two overseas collectivities for the next five years.
As the first member for Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, I sat on the opposition benches for five years. This positioning has in no way handicapped my mandate: the government, to pass its texts, needs the broadest consensus. If his majority is acquired, he has a special need to listen to the opposition. Never, then, have the doors of ministers been closed to me, on the contrary.
In a changing political landscape – probably more than ever in recent months – many voters are calling for a renewal of political life.
In Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, this need for renewal took the form of a great appeal for ever more vision, energy and above all coherence in public action.

Our Communities have broad powers, which justify that we are not deputy of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin as we are deputy of Paris. The relationship of trust with the Senator and the President of the Collectivité of Saint-Barthélemy has made very good progress for the territory during the legislature which is coming to an end. This concept of “deputy institutional relay” strong of our Communities, so distant and so little known of Paris, unfortunately was not included in Saint-Martin. It cost me. It cost the outgoing majority, I am convinced.
Because we are strong and united.
Last March, the list Saint-Barth d’Abord was re-elected in the first round of territorial elections;
The team I had the honor of leading to the territorial elections was largely elected on its clear plan, which can only be fully realized with a series of fundamental reforms. I am thinking of reforming our tax system, I am thinking of reforming the financial and organizational framework of our Community, but I am thinking also of the institutional reform that will have to be launched very quickly.
For that, my team and I, our Community, need a soldier. Of a fighter. A competent woman, animated by the love of his country and the passion to serve him. And this woman is Claire Javois.
St. Bartholomew must now complete his status; Saint-Martin must lay the foundations for this project of society for which you voted massively in the territorial elections.
Our communities can not take the risk of electing a candidate who has openly called to vote against the executives in office.
With her deputy Micheline JACQUES, Claire JAVOIS has the full support of my team, but also of the President and Senator of Saint-Barthélemy.
On June 10th and 17th, I invite the voters of Saint-Martin to make the choice of political coherence by making Claire JAVOIS, our MP.

Mes chers concitoyens,
Les 10 et 17 juin prochains, vous êtes appelés à élire le député de Saint-Barthélemy et Saint-Martin. C’est un choix très important, qui engage l’avenir de nos deux jeunes Collectivités d’outremer pour les cinq prochaines années.
Premier député de Saint-Barthélemy et Saint-Martin, j’ai siégé cinq ans sur les bancs de l’opposition. Ce positionnement n’a en rien handicapé mon mandat : le gouvernement, pour faire passer ses textes, a besoin du plus large consensus. Si sa majorité lui est acquise, il a en revanche particulièrement besoin d’être à l’écoute de l’opposition. Jamais donc, les portes des ministères ne m’ont été fermées, bien au contraire.
Dans un paysage politique en mouvement – sans doute plus que jamais que ces derniers mois – nombre d’électeurs en appellent à un renouveau de la vie politique.
A Saint-Barthélemy et à Saint-Martin, ce besoin de renouveau a pris la forme d’un grand appel à toujours plus de vision, d’énergie et surtout de cohérence dans l’action publique.
Nos Collectivités ont des compétences élargies, qui justifient que l’on n’est pas député de Saint-Barthélemy et Saint-Martin comme on est député de Paris. La relation de confiance avec le Sénateur et le Président de la Collectivité de Saint-Barthélemy a permis de très belles avancées pour le territoire au cours de la législature qui s’achève. Ce concept de « député relai institutionnel » fort de nos Collectivités, si éloignées et si méconnues de Paris, n’a malheureusement pas été compris à Saint-Martin. Il m’en a coûté. Il en a coûté à la majorité sortante, j’en suis convaincu.
Car c’est unis et solidaires que nous sommes forts.
En mars dernier, la liste Saint-Barth d’Abord a été réélue au premier tour des élections territoriales ;
L’équipe que j’ai eu l’honneur de conduire aux élections territoriales a été très largement élue sur son projet clair, qui ne pourra se réaliser pleinement qu’avec une série de réformes de fond. Je pense à la réforme de notre fiscalité, je pense à la réforme du cadre financier et organisationnel de notre Collectivité mais je pense aussi à la réforme institutionnelle qu’il va falloir très rapidement amorcer.
Pour cela, mon équipe et moi-même, notre Collectivité, avons besoin d’une soldate. D’une combattante. D’une femme compétente, animée par l’amour de son pays et la passion de le servir. Et cette femme, c’est Claire Javois.
Saint-Barthélemy doit aujourd’hui parachever son statut ; Saint-Martin doit asseoir les bases de ce projet de société pour lequel vous avez voté massivement aux élections territoriales.
Nos Collectivités ne peuvent donc pas prendre le risque de voir élire un ou une candidate qui a ouvertement appelé à voter contre les exécutifs en place.
Avec sa suppléante Micheline JACQUES, Claire JAVOIS a le soutien entier de mon équipe, mais aussi des Président et Sénateur de Saint-Barthélemy.
Les 10 et 17 juin prochains, j’invite les électrices et les électeurs de Saint-Martin à faire le choix de la cohérence politique en faisant de Claire JAVOIS, notre députée.
