The proposed sewage treatment plant between the two parts of the island appears to be at an impasse. Last weekend Angel Meyers, the Minister of VROMI (Environment and Infrastructure) announced “a suspension of all discussions with the French parties concerning the projects under the European Development Fund (EDF). This was due to the “aggressive movement From the French side to Oyster Pond. ” The ministry is currently considering the reallocation of some seven million euros for the connection of the Cole Bay area to the station. A total amount of € 3 million has been allocated for the construction of the common sewage treatment plant. The additional seven million euros relate to the lines and other connections of Cole Bay homes and businesses to this station.

Un montant total de trois millions d’euros a été alloué à construction de la station d’épuration commune. Les sept millions d’euros supplémentaires concernent les lignes et autres connexions de maisons et d’entreprises de Cole Bay à cette station.
