Another one has escaped, this time on her way to lock up at the Point Blanche prison. She was being held on immigration charges, and for some reason they decided to hold her at Point Blanche. For some other reason, they decided to UNCUFF HER, on her journey. Once the van pulled up and she was let outside- WITHOUT HANDCUFFS– she of course made her escape into the bushes. Immigration called in the SXM police department, but of course, they haven’t found her.
Question 1: Why is an illegal immigrant who is being held for deportation being taken to the Point Blanche prison for holding? Immigration has its own holding cells, and when they are full they hold immigrants at the police station cells on E Camille Richardson Street.
Question 2: Who uncuffed her on her way to her escape. The only way for her to escape would have been in the transition from van to prison.
Question 3: Why uncuff her? Isn’t it standard protocol to cuff ALL people in custody?
Question 4: How difficult is it to catch a woman, who’s lost her shoes, and runs into the bushes? There’s the prison officials, immigration AND the police department looking for a shoeless woman in white, running through the bushes.
It was a Dominicana immigrant who escaped from custody, and has yet to be found, do the authorities ever ask the above questions, since these “incidents” are occuring more frequently, and when you ask the police these questions, it’s just easier for them to harrass you, or ignore you when you call them for assistance.
