I was not surprised by the NA/UPP coalition government. I am aware of the stories about Frans Richardson of the USP and his greed. Even in 2014, Frans tried to play hardball during the coalition negotiations, and ended up on the losing end of the stick with Sarah.
You know that Frans must be extraordinarily avaricious and unscrupulous when it comes to coalition negotiations, because if Theo and Willy would rather work together, than to work with Frans, there is something very wrong going on during these negotiations.
So Willy and Theo taught Frans, the upstart a lesson. The same lesson Sarah taught him a few years ago, but Frans won’t learn. Frans will cool his heels in the minority, and wait for Theo and Willy to start getting into it.

It’s only a matter of time before those two egos clash.
Behind the scenes, Frans will be frantically negotiating with both Theo and Willy, adding to the fracas and (probably) unstable government.
At any given moment either Theo or Willy might decide that they cannot work together as a coalition, and that will be the moment that opportunist Frans will be waiting for, and he will slither in.
He won’t demand as much as he did before, but he will demand something… a lot.
There will be people mumbling about government instability.
There will be stories about Theo and Frans lunching down at Yvette’s, behind Marlin’s back. Horning William Marlin.
There will be whispers about Willy and Frans up at Benny’s under the tree, far from prying eyes, wheeling and dealing.
Call me a cynic, but a ten seat majority means nothing in the St Maarten government, when egos as big as Willy’s and Theo’s are forced to work together in unity, as a team.
The snake and the mongoose can only share a bed for so long, before someone or something goes terribly wrong.
The St Maarten government will never be stable, as long as we keep recycling the same idiots.
This is the year that Sarah got pretty much nothing. I don’t think DP’s seats will be of much assistance to her this year.
She appears to have bowed out gracefully, but we all know Sarah.
She is plotting as I blog, as Theo and Willy try to get some sleep…..
Sarah is up, drinking coffee scheming somewhere down at Dawn Beach.
Telling Sarah to resign to the fact that the DP is pretty much obsolete, would be like telling her not to breathe.
We all know that as long as Sarah has oxygen, and a few good political henchmen, she will be cooking up something for the ‘boys’.
