PHILIPSBURG–Government, as the shareholder of GEBE, has approved a proposal to appoint Kenrick Chittick as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the water and electricity company.
Also approved were proposals to appoint Iris Arrindell as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Veronica Jansen-Webster as the new Chief Operations Officer.
GEBE Supervisory Board of Directors (SBOD) Chairman Roy Marlin told The Daily Herald on Wednesday that the shareholder had approved these proposed candidates for the top positions at the company. The final decision on Chittick and Arrindell was taken on Tuesday, October 11, while that of Jansen-Webster was taken weeks ago, Marlin noted.
Jansen-Webster’s nomination is currently being screened by National Security Services St. Maarten VDSM, while those of the other two candidates will be submitted soon, Marlin said. “The SBOD of GEBE believes that these functions should be filled from within, thus promoting upward mobility within the company once candidates are available,” Marlin noted.
The process at VDSM takes about six to eight weeks. Marlin said, but the candidates will be appointed conditionally pending a positive outcome of the security screenings.
