SYNOPSIS:
Available moisture and instability across the local region will account for cloudy periods and possible isolated showers. An approaching tropical wave will increase the chance for showers toward the latter part of the forecast period.
Seas will remain near 6 feet for the next several days.

SPECIAL FEATURE:
At 5am, category 3 Hurricane Matthew was heading to the Bahamas and Florida with maximum sustained winds near 125 mph.
Tropical Storm Nicole just below hurricane strength but remains over open water with maximum sustained winds near 70 mph.
These systems do not pose a threat to St. Maarten.
Meanwhile a tropical wave located east of the Southern Lesser Antilles could increase the chances of showers over the Caribbean region on Today through Friday.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor these systems.
