Governor meets new president Joint Court of Justice
ORANJESTAD – Mauritsz de Kort shook hands today with the Governor of Aruba, Alfonso Boekhoudt. Since January 1, De Kort has been the new president of the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.
During the meeting, which took place at Cas Ceremonial di Gobernador, the President explained which topics he will pay particular attention to in the coming years. No further announcements will be made about this.
The Vice President of the Common Court of Aruba, Mr. Jacques Keltjens, was also present at this audience.
Mauritsz de Kort was born and raised in Aruba and has held the position of judge since 2011. From 2017 to 2021 he was vice president of the Joint Court of Justice of Curaçao and Bonaire. He succeeds Eunice Saleh, who decided not to run for a second term as Court President.
