LATEST ON HURRICANE SXM NEWS, DEPRESSION DEVELOPING FROM gromyko wilson

Tropical Depression #11…
The large tropical wave located a few hundred miles northeast of the local region developed into Tropical Depression #11 late last night. This system has a minor potential to further develop into ‘Tropical Storm Jerry’, but does NOT pose a threat to the SSS Islands nor the rest of the Caribbean.
We will no longer mention this system.

Approaching tropical wave…
Closer to home, the area of moisture currently affecting the local region is associated with yet another tropical wave that is expected to bring a few showers throughout the next 24 to 48 hours.
Some of these showers may cause minor street-flooding, and as such road-users are advised to use caution through low-lying & flood-prone areas — especially tonight.

Elsewhere in the Atlantic…
There are no other significant tropical systems at this time. However, there is a developing tropical disturbance located south of Jamaica and Hispaniola (approaching Central America). This system has a low (20%) chance of developing into a tropical system within the next 48 hours, and does NOT pose a threat to the SSS Islands.

All are reminded to prepare their families, homes, and properties in advance of any possible future storm(s).
