Officer Richmel “Red Rum” was arrested for the death of Akeem Isidora in Belvedere.
There are two main theories in the death of Akeem Isidora.
a) Officer York was jealous of Isidora because of a mutual female friend
b) Officer York had an issue with Isidora because Isidora had previously killed someone closed to him.
Officer York, went free for almost two months after the killing, and was finally arrested last week.
He was held at the Point Blanche Prison, but then had to be transferred to Aruba, because of safety reasons.
He could not be transferred to Curacao, because Curacao prison is no safer for St Maarteners than St Maarten prison is. Because of the Bling Bling and the No Limit Gang.. The Curacao and St Maarten prisons are ONE.
In Aruba, Officer York is being held in an “Isolation Unit” reserved specially for ‘high profile’ suspects.
He is in isolation, for his own protection and safety, so his family and friends should be reassured by that news.
He is on “visitor restriction” for the next ten days (10 days), so not even family are allowed to visit him right now.
The only visitors he’s getting, are daily visits from the Marechaussee ( The Royal Dutch Soldiers/ Police) Who are autonomous police entities, unique to the Antilles, and not tied to the local St Maarten KPSM police, or the Bavpol, Control Unit, Vks, Lands Recherche etc etc….
The Marechaussee, which I cannot spell correctly are interrogating him and questioning him.
One would think that his interrogation would be a job done by the Lands Recherche (Federal Antilles) Detectives, but I’m guessing the Dutch are starting to figure out some things 🙂
And are changing their strategy when it comes to Police who are accused of crimes.
