Dear people of Sint Maarten,
It was an honor and privilege to serve you as Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary at the Cabinet Minister Plenipotentiary of Sint Maarten in The Hague. The Cabinet of the Minister Plenipotentiary has been working aggressively to improve the image and credibility of the Cabinet. I couldn’t have asked for a better team in that regard.
We have spent the last year forging and improving broken relationships with the political, diplomatic and economic communities here in The Hague. We’ve started solution-based initiatives and encouraged partnerships to help rebuild our beloved country. Unfortunately, due to the immature political developments on the island I might not be able to continue to guide and execute what I have started in my current capacity. It was with a saddened heart that I officially made my position as Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary available on Monday, September 23rd, 2019.
Do rest assured that I will continue to perform my duties which were entrusted to me, because failure is not an option when it comes to the recovery and rebuilding of Sint Maarten.
Sincerely,
Michael O. Somersall
Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary
