SANDY GROUND:— A 35 year old man from St. Martin is now dead due to several stab wounds he received from another 35 year old man who is now in garde à vue. According to information reaching SMN News, the two men got into an argument while they were in Bamboo Vert located in Sandy Ground. SMN News learnt that the argument escalated into a fight and one of the men jumped into the water by Sandy Ground Bridge to escape his attacker but the other man jumped into the water and stabbed him multiple times where he died. The suspect was also slightly injured when he was arrested by the Gendarmes at the location where the killing occurred 8am Saturday morning. Commandant of the Gendarmerie Paul Betaille confirmed to SMN News that a 35 year old man was killed while the killer is now in garde à vue. Betaille said both the suspect and victim are 35 years of age. The head of the Gendarmerie said the investigation is ongoing.
