I would like to express my opinion in defence of the unions. I believe that they should be paid the full cost-of-living adjustment (COLA).
A happy working class (WICSU/PSU/NAPB/WITU included) would engender good work attitude. It was said (leading up to 10-10-10) that if we want to attract the best and the brightest into our civil service, we ought to make the payment attractive. Well, that was exactly what the politicians did. These megalomaniacs apparently do not want anybody else to enjoy a happy life. I believe that our MPs are overpaid; Parliament is not even chock-full of MPs with legal expertise. Some comrades feel that the MPs deserve well for their work. I, however, take exception to the symbiotic relationship between opposition and government. Not least of all, more price controls have to be implemented. Give me a good reason why cost of living keeps increasing by leaps and bounds? It is as if the politicians owe food merchants a political debt. Disenchantment with government is spreading fast, government’s reluctance to tackle these crucial, social issues forthwith could precipitate industrial action. Pay the unions the COLA. Implement more price controls; increase the minimum wage H. How long do expect poor people to wait?
Comrades, I am flush with emotions
