Tensions are still running high in the St Maarten penitentiary system, where an inmate broke the jaw of a prison guard. The inmate evidently had threatened the guard on several previous occassions. The prison guard was taken to the St Maarten Medical Center for treatment. The inmate has yet to be charged with the assault.
