For the past months, NV GEBE has been experiencing power outages; this is due to outdated and severely damaged HT

In order to carry out the repairs, the Welgelegen Road will be closed for through traffic – which will be indicated by the two pink squares. There will be security guards on both ends to ensure the constant flow of the traffic. The route will be open for Emergency vehicles only Ambulance-Police-Fire Department coming and going on the closed section of Welgelegen road.
The works will start on Wednesday after 8.00PM with the cutting of the entire road section.
Trench works will start from the intersection AJC Brouwer Rd/Welgelegen Rd up to Econo Supermarket. This will take around two weeks. After completing this, crews will start on Phase #2. Phase #3 entails the road crossing.
