N.V. GEBE would like to inform our customers and the community of St. Maarten that, earlier today, the Commercial Department noted that two computer devices on the information technology (I.T.) network, appeared suspicious. 100 New Photos acceptance of the Office Governor Sint Maarten Ajamu G. After alerting N.V. GEBE’s ICT Department, those computers, other critical systems, as well as the entire I.T. network were temporarily taken off-line, as a precautionary measure, to allow a detailed review and assessment to be carried out.

With consideration that N.V. GEBE is critical to national security, the Prime Minister of St. Maarten was immediately informed.

After a series of critical analyses, it was confirmed that there was no risk to N.V. GEBE’s I.T. network, infrastructure and/or business applications. Also, no data breach was detected.

This was confirmed by N.V. GEBE’s joint I.T. Task Force, comprised of the managed provider of the remote I.T. security monitoring services, as well as,

the internal ICT Department.
After thorough review and consultations, along with a supporting team of I.T. specialists, as well as, N.V. GEBE’s internal ICT Team, the network has resumed normal business operations. N.V. GEBE’s joint I.T. Task Force continues to prioritize the review of its systems and monitoring of the entire network. https://www.stmaartennews.org

N.V. GEBE remains committed to the restoration of the company’s I.T. systems affected by the cyberattack in March, 2022. Furthermore, N.V. GEBE’s I.T. Task Force is continuously focused on ensuring that the three main company pillars, including its distribution, production and commercial operations, are functional, secure and protected.
