Restaurant What’s Up India on Eendrachtsweg has been closed to guests for a while due to corona. Inspired by the 1.5 meter rules for the catering industry, owner Dinesh is therefore designing a robot for operation. Completely in the style of his restaurant, with a lot of bling-bling.
Dinesh Lalawani came to the Netherlands with his family a few years ago. He lived and worked on St. Maarten until Hurricane Irma devastated the island in 2017. Until then he worked as a jeweler and sold diamonds to our own Princess Beatrix, among others. His children were already studying in the Netherlands at that time, so the choice was quickly made for him. For him, the move was also an opportunity to realize his long-cherished dream: opening his own restaurant. That became reality in 2018 with his business What’s Up India.
With its background in the diamonds, the look of the restaurant only makes sense. Anyone who has been there before will understand, a lot of bling-bling. Dinesh likes to do things a little differently and he is certainly creative. During corona time, he engages a robot for operation, which can follow the rules well.
Dinesh background in engineering and his children helped him with this. It eventually became a kind of mobile table, controlled by a joystick from the bar and of course decorated with all possible bling-bling.
