Aruba Hardest Hit By Covid 19 Of All Dutch Caribbean Islands.

The six Caribbean islands of the Kingdom are looking forward to starting the vaccination program. On Tuesday afternoon (local time) the first vaccines arrived from the Netherlands on Aruba and Bonaire. Curaçao expects to receive the first vaccines on Wednesday. Also on Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius and Saba people are ready for the vaccination programs. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics of Aruba, it is clear that this island has so far been the hardest hit of the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.

SHTA Raises Concerns Regarding CFT Comments on ZV/OV Limit

PROSECUTORS ORDER THE PROSECUTION OF ANOTHER ST MAARTEN POLITICIAN THIS ONE TIED TO RUBY CASE OF BID RIGGING.

The Court of Appeals of Aruba, Curacao, Sint Maarten, and the BES-islands (the “Court”) ordered the prosecution of an individual with political authority on Sint Maarten. The order relates exclusively to a limited number of crimes of which he is suspected.
Based on the Constitution of Sint Maarten and the National Ordinance for Prosecution of Individuals with Political Authority, the Public Prosecutor’s Office can only prosecute individuals with political authority after an order to that effect has been issued by the Court.

DUTCH CARIBBEAN NATURE ALLIANCE PUBLISHES 2021 HURRICANE SEASON MANUAL FOR ST MAARTEN, SABA, STATIA FULL MANUAL BELOW

This Natural Disaster Response Manual was produced for the Dutch Caribbean islands of Saba, St. Eustatius and St. Maarten after those islands were heavily impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. The manual is heavily based on the experiences of the Park Management Organizations the Sint Maarten Nature Foundation (NFSXM), the Saba Conservation Foundation (SCF) and STENAPA St. Eustatius and aims to give the tools necessary to effectively respond to natural disasters in terms of preparation, response and restoration. The funding for the manual is part of the emergency financial support given to the NFSXM, SCF and STENAPA by the DCNA Trust Fund as a response to the 2017 Hurricane Season.

BREAKING! CONVICTION OF AGENT IN THE FATAL ARREST OF MITCH HENRIQUEZ STANDS

February 16, 2021
The conviction of one of the agents involved in the fatal arrest of Mitch Henriquez can stand. That is the judgment of the Supreme Court. The latter agrees with the Court of Appeal’s opinion that the officer has used the neck clamp for too long and thus acted “disproportionately”. Henriquez, 42, died in June 2015 after his arrest at a music festival in The Hague.
