Guadeloupe and Saint-Bartholomew have recorded more coronavirus cases.
The Regional Health Agency for Guadeloupe says the island has four additional cases of COVID-19 bringing the number of confirmed cases to five.
The patients are a 56-year-old woman who returned from a trip to Paris, two men aged 35 and 46 and a 69-year-old woman whose journey is under investigation to identify the origin of the contamination.
Prefet de Guadeloupe says the state of health of these people does not cause any concern at this stage and they have been instructed to stay at home and observe the current containment recommendations.
The search for contact persons is underway, led by Santé Publique France and ARS.
Saint Martin and Saint-Bartholomew
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Saint Bartholomew (St Barts) has risen to three.
Prefecture de Saint Barthelemy et de Saint-Martin says the two confirmed cases are a couple back from vacation.
They have not been in contact with the first confirmed patient who has already healed.
The couple contracted COVID-19 on a cruise ship.
From the first signs of symptoms, they stayed at home and alerted the authorities.
Their health is not worrying at this time.
In terms of Saint-Martin’s two confirmed cases, one patient has recovered from the coronavirus while the second person has tested negative, but his recovery needs to be confirmed with a second test. h
