PHILIPSBURG – Sint Maarten is open from 1 July for tourists from Europe and America. Tourism minister Ludmila de Weever announced this. Passengers must undergo a corona test before leaving for Sint Maarten and wearing a mask while traveling.
Aruba previously announced that it would like to receive Americans as of July 10, Curaçao is currently not open to visitors from America and Canada. On St Maarten, according to De Weever, both the population and the tourists must keep social distance and observe the hygiene regulations. “Economic activity is important, but we must follow the rules,” said the minister.
Sint Maarten has been open for several days for visitors from Saba, St. Eustatius, Bonaire, Curaçao, Aruba, Anguilla, St. Barths, Martinique and Guadeloupe. On June 22, Saint Martin opens its borders to visitors from St. Lucia, Antigua, Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica and the British Virgin Islands.
