St-Martin SXM: The President and two VPs in police custody. Daniel Gibbs, Annick Pretrus and Valérie Damaseau were placed in custody at 9 am on Thursday. They were summoned to the St. Martin Research Section to be heard in a preliminary inquiry into government procurement; they surrendered themselves to the gendarmerie.
The Basse-Terre prosecutor, Jean-Luc Lennon, wanted the president and his two vice-presidents to be heard so that they can explain the circumstances in which service contracts were awarded. “The other vice-presidents are not heard because they do not appear in these markets,” said the prosecutor.
Jean-Luc Lennon has extended the custody this morning.
