Curaçao coastguard stops boat with forty Venezuelans and two monkeys

In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday (local time), the Coast Guard on Curaçao detained a boat with 40 Venezuelans  . They were on their way to Curaçao. In addition to the humans, there were also two monkeys on board. All people are immediately tested for the corona virus and any other conditions. The animals have been taken care of by the Veterinary Service.

It concerns a total of 34 men and six women, they are held in barracks where they cannot come into contact with other people. The Coast Guard in Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten has been intensively monitoring shipping traffic for months to prevent illegal immigrants from coming from South America and spreading the corona virus if possible.
