According to the Secret Service of Curaçao (VDC)
Secret information has been stolen from the AIVD. The feeling now is that the sensitive data is now probably in the possession of mafia figures who may use the information to blackmail people and avoid prosecution.
The data theft took place after the secret service had written a critical report which involved a number of ministers in the then Schotte government. They were found to have close ties with the international mafia.
Figurehead of the Mafia
Gerrit Schotte became Prime Minister in 2010 after Curacao became an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. From then on, criminals got free access to the police and the justice department.
They were given access to The Central Bank and even to the secret service, which had been under the Schotte Government since 2011.
Massive amounts of information was stolen. Schotte received money from Robbie dos Santos, “TheLottery King” of Curacao, and Francesco Corallo, “The Casino Emperor”, operating out of St Maarten.
Corallo is closely linked to the Italian mafia. Schotte tried to get the United States to release the frozen funds of Dos Santos and tried to get Corallo a diplomatic passport.
Schotte also tried to make Corallo’s financial right hand man, (Baetsen) head of the Central Bank, a move which thanks to the intervention of SP and VVD in the Chamber was prevented.
The Murder Helmin Wiels
Helmin Wiels was assassinated on May 5th, 2013.
The most influential politician in Curacao,
Wiels was a social worker, who knew very well how the criminals in Curacao enriched themselves at the expense of the general population.
Wiels supported in 2010 the Government of Schotte, but left after a fierce fight in 2012.
He then allowed the government to fall.
Wiels won the elections and supported a new government – without Schotte.
Then Wiels announced a battle against the financial underworld, including casinos and lotteries.
He was assassinated shortly thereafter.
In August 2014 the assassin was sentenced to life, but to date it is still not clear who contracted the murder.
What is clear is that the secret service of Curaçao failed to warn Wiels of the impending danger.
“The Curacao Leak”
This week in Curacao, the critical former head of the secret service was fully reinstated by the courts . Now it is clear to everyone that the then Prime Minister Schotte put The Secret Service under pressure and installed a “mole/double agent”. The current government of Curaçao failed to set things right in the VDC, partly because the double agent working for the mafia underworld is still holding sway. Therefore, the danger remains that information from the AIVD is in the hands of the mafia.
I asked Minister Plasterk to plug “The Curacao Leak”, as soon as possible.
Now is the time for the Netherlands to examine the information that has come into the hands of the mob, to ensure that the politicians
(in Curacao) are detected and prosecuted.
Bij de geheime dienst van Curaçao (VDC) is geheime informatie gestolen van de AIVD. Die gevoelige gegevens zijn nu waarschijnlijk in handen gekomen van maffiose figuren, die de gegevens kunnen gebruiken om mensen te chanteren en vervolging te voorkomen. De diefstal van gegevens vond plaats nadat de geheime dienst een uiterst kritisch rapport (PDF) had geschreven over een aantal ministers in de toenmalige regering Schotte, die nauwe banden bleken te hebben met de internationale maffia. Voorafgaand aan die diefstal werd het hoofd van de VDC, die verantwoordelijk was voor dit onderzoek, buitenspel gezet.
Zetbaas van de maffia
Gerrit Schotte werd in 2010 premier nadat Curaçao een autonoom land was geworden binnen het Koninkrijk. Vanaf toen kregen criminelen vrij toegang tot politie en justitie, de Centrale Bank en zelfs de geheime dienst, waar onder de regering Schotte vanaf 2011 massaal informatie werd gestolen. Schotte kreeg geld toegestopt van Robbie dos Santos, de loterijkoning van Curaçao, en Francesco Corallo, de casinokeizer die opereert vanuit Sint-Maarten en nauw is verbonden met de Italiaanse maffia. Schotte probeerde in de Verenigde Staten de bevroren tegoeden van Dos Santos los te krijgen en Corallo een diplomatiek paspoort te bezorgen. En hij probeerde diens financiële rechterhand hoofd te maken van de Centrale Bank, wat mede dankzij ingrijpen van SP en VVD in de Kamer is voorkomen.
Moord op Helmin Wiels
Op 5 mei 2013 werd Helmin Wiels vermoord, de meest invloedrijke politicus op Curaçao. Wiels was een maatschappelijk werker, die heel goed wist hoe de criminelen op Curaçao zichzelf verrijken, ten koste van de gewone bevolking. Wiels steunde in 2010 de regering van Schotte, maar liet na felle ruzies in 2012 deze foute regering weer vallen. Wiels won de verkiezingen en steunde een nieuwe regering – zonder Schotte. Daarna kondigde Wiels een strijd aan tegen de financiële onderwereld, waaronder de casino’s en loterijen, kort daarop werd hij vermoord. In augustus 2014 kreeg de huurmoordenaar levenslang, maar tot op heden is nog steeds niet duidelijk wie de opdrachtgevers zijn van de moord. Wel is duidelijk dat de geheime dienst van Curaçao heeft nagelaten Wiels te waarschuwen voor het dreigende gevaar.
Het lek van Curaçao
Deze week is op Curaçao het voormalige en kritische hoofd van de geheime dienst door de rechter volledig in ere hersteld. Nu is voor iedereen duidelijk dat de toenmalige premier Schotte de geheime dienst onder druk heeft gezet en hier een stroman heeft neergezet. De huidige regering van Curaçao slaagt er niet in orde op zaken te stellen bij de VDC, mede omdat de stroman van de onderwereld daar nog steeds de scepter zwaait. Daardoor blijft het gevaar dat informatie die afkomstig is van de AIVD in handen komt van de maffia. Ik heb minister Plasterk gevraagd dat lek van Curaçao zo snel mogelijk te dichten. Nu is het moment voor Nederland om te onderzoeken welke informatie in handen is gekomen van de maffia en ervoor te zorgen dat de betrokken politici op Curaçao worden opgespoord en vervolgd.
