Duo Will Be In St Maarten In November

Willemstad – The Education Executive Agency (DUO) regularly visits the islands in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom to provide information to future students and former students. At the moment, personal conversations are already taking place, and from next Monday DUO will also provide general information on Curaçao.

Information for prospective students and their parents

On October 28, 2019, DUO will organize an information meeting about study financing for prospective students and their parents who want to study in the Netherlands from the 2020-2021 academic year.

This meeting takes place from 6.30 pm – 8 pm in the Auditorium of World Trade Center Curaçao. Everyone is cordially invited.

Information for former students

Former students who have to start paying off their study debts in 2020 will also receive information, whereby they will be informed, among other things, of the timely request of a capacity-measurement.

This information meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 29 from 6:30 am to 8 pm in the World Trade Center Curaçao (room Wayaká).

The former students receive a personal invitation from DUO for this information evening.

Tailor-made solution for relievers with problems

Since October 14, DUO employees have been present on the island to enter into a personal conversation with former students with large payment arrears. In the meantime discussions have been held with dozens of former students that have led to a customized solution.

The discussions take place by appointment. Former students who are eligible for such an interview have received a personal invitation from DUO. Former students who have not yet accepted the invitation can still make an appointment by sending an e-mail to: debiteurenbeheer@duo.nl stating the DUO correspondence or citizen service number, name, address and telephone number.

Service desk

If (former) students still have questions after the information session, they can go to a temporary service desk from 29 October up to and including 8 November.

The counter is housed at the Representation of the Netherlands in Willemstad, location: Scharlooweg # 55 and will be open on working days from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.

Other islands

In addition to Curaçao, DUO will also be present in Aruba and St. Maarten in November. Here too, information will be given to new students and former students. The information session on Aruba will take place on 11 and 12 November and on St Maarten 25 and 26 November 2019.

For the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, DUO implements, among other things, laws and regulations regarding the funding of educational institutions, the provision of study financing and the reimbursement of school costs, the collection of study debts, and the management and exchange of data linked to the education number.
