The Eastern Caribbean is a seismically active area with hundreds of earthquakes occurring in and around the region each year. Although not all of these earthquakes are felt, instruments at the SRC record the majority of these events.
The maps below show the epicentres of earthquakes in the Eastern Caribbean region (9°N to 20°N, 58° W to 65°W) during the period  01st – 15th April, 2011 and 16th – 31st March, 2011. The size of the symbols varies depending on the earthquake magnitude. Shallow earthquakes (depths <35 km) are indicated by the orange and red symbols depths between 35-70 km are indicated by the green symbols and depths between 70-100 km are indicated by the blue symbols. Deeper earthquakes (depths >100 km) are indicated by the pink symbols.
