PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – An Italian tourist was robbed by unknown bandits just after twelve (12) Tuesday morning.
The robbery took place in the parking lot of the Caravanserai Beach Resort in Beacon Hill.
According to initial reports, the tourist was struck over the head by the robber who used his gun to violently hurt the male victim.
During the process of the robbery, a gun shot is reported to have been fired from the bandits gun.
Apart from the victim no one else was hurt during the robbery.
The police and detectives were observed on the crime scene conducting their investigation while the male tourist was transported by ambulance to the St Maarten Medical Center (SMMC).
