The Public Prosecutor in the Netherlands dismissed the Francesco Corallo claim against the Knipsel Krant Curacao blog.
Francesco Corallo had subpoenaed and sued the blogs Administrators and Host after he was repeatedly referred to as a ‘maffiabaas’ (mafia boss) in its articles.
Corallo did not just sue the Knipsel Krant Curacao, he had also sued various Dutch politicians for ‘character assassination’.
When then Prime Minister of Curacao, Gerrit Schotte tried to appoint casino owner Francesco Corallo in a diplomatic position, Corallo had to be vetted.
As posted previously in the blogs, the Italians responded to the screening of Corallo by saying that he was a Mafioso.
Since the letter of reference from Italy referring to Corallo as a “Mafia Boss”, Dutch politicians and blogs have been referring to him as a Mafia Boss, base on the Italian Report.
Corallo is suing it seems, everyone- but the original sources- The Italians.
His argument it seems, is that the politicians and blogs should have verified what the Italians say, but if you read the original documents, the Italians left no doubt that he was considered a very unsuitable, if not criminal character.
The strategy of suing the Dutch, in Holland – does not seem to be working.
I guess they’ll have to move on to “Plan B”
