What is the current NA/UP governing coalition’s stance on our political status? Do they even have a stance?
Let’s break it down in a few simple choices.
A
Renegotiate the Kingdom charter to become:
-a commonwealth of independent partners?
-an in-between of the current status and a commonwealth (that only they can explain)?
B
Step out of the Kingdom charter and become an independent nation?
C
Seek Netherlands’ status for the St. Maarten citizens with all the rights and obligations, a la BES?
Note: the coalition’s stance appears to be A, B and C.
