It is irresponsible & unacceptale the behavior of the politicians of SXM to cut themselves such a hugh salaries & extra financial benefits & pension a the age of 40, & pay without work & pay after being fired.
The yearly island budget is 450.000.000.00 fls We cannot even raise that amount in one year That is without adding the debts to be paid
We have every year a defecit, we can’t even balance the budget, we had a problem getting them to sign in, and support the same budget that they alone take .1% 450.000.00 a year in pay.

all this while the govt. (we the people) are broke covers are empty
there is no money to buy school materials for our children and our parents are living on a poverty pension & the youth being neglected……But there is money for boat-race & building Pelicans & laying bricks & Palm trees all over the island & building tunnels & bridges
But we can’t find ONE LOCAL to head the SHTA?
But we can’t find ONE LOCAL to head a new hotel on sxm??
This is how we build a nation?
Leadership is the development of people NOT the movement of things…..
In the end this is not miss-use this is abuse of the small man hard own tax dollars, because the big man does not pay tax on sxm.
When you become civil servant is because you want to serve the people & the country NOT for MONEY..if you want money go get it in the private sector. SXM lacks true servant-leaders that want to serve for love not wealth.Nelson Els
