New Visa requirements for Venezuelans in the St Maarten, Aruba, Curacao

There will be a visa requirement for Venezuelans who want to travel to Aruba, Curaçao or St Maarten. According to Minister Stef Blok (Foreign Affairs) in a letter to the Chamber, the visa requirement will be introduced in the second quarter of next year.

The number of Venezuelans who may travel to the Caribbean part of the Kingdom is limited to a maximum of 8,000 per year. The measure is part of a broader package to ensure that “the movement of persons from Venezuela takes place in a responsible and regulated manner”.
Several million people have already fled because of the political and economic crisis in nearby Venezuela. They flee via the sea to Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, among others.
