Philipsburg – A team of bailiffs and police seized Saturday on St Maarten for counterfeit articles from world famous brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Gucci. It concerned bags, belts and purses.
In June this market was also seized, but in the meantime all market stalls were again provided with illegal merchandise. The stores in the Backstreet and Frontstreet have also been selling unimpeded and unpunished fake items for years, according to brand owners.
