Silvio Matser of the ruling United People’s Party was convicted in court today. The coalition is in trouble, as other UPP slate member Maria Buncamper Molanus “Marietje” will also be in court today at 2pm, to face her charges of a ‘long lease’ scam.
Matser was given a 24 months sentence, 18 will be suspended.
His company Energizer NV was ordered to pay some a Naf. 4.5 million guilders in fine. Prosecutor Gonda Van der Wulp was the Prosecutor in the case
The sentencing occured just a few hours ago.
Matser was charged with tax evasion.The amount of US $3.2 million.
As a convicted felon, Matster can not keep his Parliamentarian seat. Maria Buncamper would be next in line, but her criminal case is being held today at 2pm, and reliable sources feel that she WILL be convicted.
Maria Buncamper Molanus is facing criminal courts for tax evasion she can still occupy her seat as a Member of Parliament until her case is finalized. But, MP Silvio Matser is now officially suspended as a Member of Parliament .
