In recent months, the share of the British variant of the Coronavirus (B.1.1.7) in the Leeward Islands has increased sharply. Germ surveillance in Curaçao has now shown to be 96% of the infections with the British variant. Partly as a result of this, there is currently a strongly increased incidence of infections with SARS-CoV 2, mainly on Curaçao and Bonaire.
