Issued in the past months were 699 directors licences; 514 licences for businesses and branches; 232 public transportation licences primarily for help drivers and assistant drivers; 82 operational licences; 74 restaurant and operational licences; 49 real estate businesses licences; 44 management and administration licences; 44 consultancy licences; 40 restaurant and branch licences; 24 car rental licences; 11 cleaning services (import and export) licences; nine yachting and marine services licences and five gaming industry licences – two for tele-bingo and three amendments to existing lottery licences.

In the meantime a moratorium on taxi licences, in place since 2014, is still in effect. Arrindell said, however, that three persons had appealed the denial of their licences and based on a decision from the appeals committee; these persons had been granted taxi licences.

Arrindell said the issuing of licences is one of the primary activities of the Ministry.
