CASINO FIRES TWELVE PERMANENT VETERAN EMPLOYEES, NO DISMISSAL, NO WARNING, NO PAY, NO PAY OUT! WHERE ARE THE WORKERS’ RIGHTS?

How would you feel if you worked for a company, loyally for 20-24 years, worked the day- get called in to a meeting- and get FIRED!?

For decades, they did nothing wrong- they busted their ass for this company, and are fired IN SEASON, because of someone else’s mismanagement.

I just came from Port de Plaisance, Twelve veteran employees of the Coliseum/Princess casino were just unceremoniously fired, no warning, no letter of dismissal, no

money- although they worked them today, and they will not be paid out.

The employees were still in shock as they left the meeting which was held at Port de Plaisance, at 3 pm sharp.

By 4 pm the employees were told to ‘go home’.

With Christmas only a month away, many of the employees were so stunned that they could not even speak. The few who could talk about what happened, spoke of

decades of loyal service to the Casino.

According to sources these 12 employees were subcontracted by an individual Odine, who died recently.

Upon his death it was discovered that he did not ensure that they permanent employees subcontracted under him were taken care of.

Evidently the Subcontractor owed astronomical amounts of money, and the employees will be the ones to suffer for his misdeeds.

These loyal employees who’ve been with the Casino for decades, have already been replaced.

Their replacements have already been hired, and will show up in their place tomorrow.

The employees it seems had virtually no representation.

Many are saying that if it’s not illegal what was done to these seasoned, permanent employees, then it should be.

There is something borderline illegal and unethical about firing your loyal employees, with not a moments notice, without a true explanation.

These employees have done nothing wrong, they are being made to pay for the mistakes of a dead man.

We hope that these employees FIGHT for their rights, and get proper representation.

I went to school with some of these employees most are from St Maarten

.
Don’t believe that a bunch of foreigners are being laid off. There are non-natives who did lose their jobs today, but many are veteran employees from here.

This is a sad situation. But technically if they were subcontracted than they truly did not work for the casino to begin with, but for the subcontractor.
