Two Illegal Bars Shut Down Sandy Ground, Saint Martin

Administrative closures of two bars in Sandy GroundIn the framework of the Territorial Anti-Fraud Operational Committee (COTAF), restaurant inspections were recently carried out and resulted in the administrative closure of two restaurant bars in Sandy Ground.

They have “never been declared to the territorial unit of the Directorate of Food, Agriculture and Forestry” as required by law state services. In addition, “serious non-compliances in the area of food safety” were observed “as well as the total loss of control of risks” in both institutions.

Officials must make a declaration to the authorities, implement plans for sanitary control, pest control and a protocol for cleaning and disinfection. A new audit will be carried out and if all the corrective measures are carried out, the administrative closures will be lifted.
